The PTMSC presents an estate planning seminar—Do Well By Doing Good

On Thursday, May 22nd, from 5-7 p.m., the Port Townsend Marine Science Center (PTMSC) will present a seminar entitled, “Do Well By Doing Good—Estate Planning for Your, Your Family and Your Community.” It will be located in the Natural History Exhibit.

This seminar offers an excellent opportunity to learn how to make an estate plan that will benefit you, your loved ones, and the organizations you support. This is an “education only” seminar and no one will be solicited in any way, nor will any particular funds or methods be promoted. Members of other non-profit organizations, as well as anyone thinking about estate planning, are encouraged to attend.

When someone takes time to put together a good estate plan, they will have the best benefit of all. Learn what to include in a will, how to avoid probate and about several different giving options. Estate plans can also be an important lasting legacy for the non-profit organization(s) of one’s choice, after providing for family and friends.

The seminar will be conducted by: Stephen C. Moriarty, Attorney at Law, specialist in estate planning with Platt & Irwin law firm; Betty Abersold, Registered Representative, Mutual Service Corp., Member SIPC & FINRA; Registered Investment Advisor; and John Mackey, CPA with the firm of Gooding, O’Hara and Mackey.

These professionals will present advice for creating an estate plan and answer questions about charitable trusts, bequests, tax deductions for charitable gifts and the best options for benefiting both heirs and well-loved organizations.
