Birds of Shore and Sea

Birds of Shore and Sea
Grades 4- 5

Marine Birds are birds that spend at least part of the year near salt water. In this class, students use prepared study skins to become acquainted with some of the common marine birds that spend time in Puget Sound and discover some unique adaptations they use to survive along the shore or far out at sea.

If the weather accommodates, the class moves outside with binoculars to observe some of these birds in the wild.

Class length: 90 minutes
Maximum Group Size: 26 students and 4 adults
Program Cost: $230 (before April 1st)
Peak Season Cost: $250 (April 1st through June 18th)
